DALLAS, Nov. 1 (UPI) -- Egyptian twins were blowing kisses and sucking lollipops in a Dallas hospital Saturday, less than three weeks after marathon surgery to separate them.
The conditions of 2-year-old Ahmed and Mohamed Ibrahim were upgraded from guarded to good, Dr. James Thomas of the Children's Medical Center told CNN.
"Mohamed's legs are getting stronger and he is now sucking occasionally on lollipops," Thomas said. "Ahmed's favorite activity is blowing kisses to anyone who comes to greet him."
The boys, born joined at the head, are in separate rooms but visit together daily, Thomas said.
The twins will undergo head CT scans Monday to determine how much spinal fluid has accumulated inside and around their brains, although they show no clinical signs of a fluid buildup, a statement from the hospital said.
The twins were separated Oct. 12 in a delicate 33-hour operation.
