Focus shifts in Cailfornia campaign

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 4 (UPI) -- The focus of California's gubernatorial recall campaign shifted further off the issues Saturday as more women leveled claims against the GOP frontrunner.

The Los Angeles Times reported three more women had come forward claiming to have been grabbed or sexually harassed by Republican Arnold Schwarzenegger, raising to 11 the number of women who have made similar allegations to the newspaper.

Schwarzenegger denied two of the allegations through a spokesman and had no comment on the third, the Times said.

Author Wendy Leigh divulged even more allegations against the embattled actor and bodybuilding in Saturday's London Daily Mail.

In addition to relating the alleged experience of an unnamed woman who said she was assaulted by Schwarzenegger, Leigh raised unsubstantiated claims he had fathered a love child with a stewardess, the Drudge Report said.

The Drudge Report also said New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd planned to call her Sunday column "Win One for the Groper."
