Report: Suicide bomb kills 10 in Russia

MOSCOW, July 5 (UPI) -- A suspected suicide bomber might have killed at least 10 at a rock concert outside Moscow, initial reports said.

Interfax news agency reported one to three explosions might have gone off Saturday at a rock festival, called Wings, being held at an airbase to the northwest of Russia's capital.

CNN reported that President Vladimir Putin had been informed of the bombing. It was the latest in a series of suicide attacks in Russia and Chechnya.

Last month, a suicide bomber threw herself under a bus loaded with members of Russia's military. The blast killed at least 17 people.

Last year, Chechen rebels held dozens hostage in a Moscow theater, demanding Russian troops withdraw from the Chechen Republic. To end the hostage crisis, Russian special forces stormed the building after releasing a gas to knock out the rebels. More than 120 hostages as well as the 41 hostage-takers died from the effects of the gas.
