Missing woman linked to boxer De la Hoya

ANAHEIM, Calif., July 3 (UPI) -- Police in Southern California were on the lookout for a missing woman who claimed to have had a child by boxing champion Oscar de la Hoya.

Anaheim police told KNBC televsion the missing 30-year-old former dancer was last heard from Saturday when she failed to return from a shopping trip. Her unoccupied vehicle has since been found.

Investigators haven't found any sign of foul play, however they are anxious to locate both the woman and her 4-year-old son, Devon.

Angelique Desparo, also known as Angelique McQueen, has claimed that Devon is the offspring of De La Hoya, however two spokesmen for the fighter say they never heard of her.
