Second N.M. fire likely an accident

ALBUQUERQUE, July 1 (UPI) -- Investigators say an Albuquerque wildfire was probably an accident, possibly started at a campsite.

A 41-year-old homeless man was questioned about the fire Monday morning and released, Mayor Martin Chávez said. The man was in the area at the time but isn't a suspect in the case, they said. It was the second time he had been interviewed.

Also Monday, two small fires possibly started by fireworks, were quickly put out.

More than 330 acres of forest flanking the Rio Grande burned in two separate fires last week. Hundreds of people were evacuated.

One blaze broke out Tuesday south of Interstate 40, and three teenage boys were arrested in connection with the fire.

Chávez said the fires are 100 percent contained.
