GOP takes open Ind. seat

SOUTH BEND, Ind., Nov. 5 (UPI) -- In what turned into a big-money campaign by Indiana standards, Republican Chris Chocola won election Tuesday to an open U.S. House seat in the 2nd Congressional District. With 82 percent of the precincts tallied, Chocola garnered 51 percent of the vote, compared to 45 percent for Democrat Jill Long Thompson.
