Byrd: White House pulling stunts

WASHINGTON, May 2 (UPI) -- Senate Appropriations Committee Chairman Robert Byrd, D-W.Va., said Thursday the White House was pulling "sophomoric political antics" because Homeland Security Director Tom Ridge would not testify before the Senate about how secure he feels the nation is. Instead, Ridge is to brief senators at a separate location.
