Man claims killed Hitler to gain soul

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., April 11 (UPI) -- A man trying to convince a jury he was insane when he gunned down seven co-workers at Edgewater Technologies described how he believed he was killing Hitler and six Nazis soldiers in 1940 in order to prevent the Holocaust and gain a soul. Michael M. McDermott, 43, appeared articulate and rational when he took the witness stand at his murder trial on Thursday.
