Assemblyman to challenge Condit

MODESTO, Calif., Oct. 22 (UPI) -- California Assemblyman Dennis Cardoza plans to formally announce his candidacy Tuesday for the congressional seat held by fellow Democrat Gary Condit, the Modesto Bee reported Monday. Condit has represented the 18th District since 1989, however his political future is tenuous due to his relationship with missing intern Chandra Levy.
