Oil reserve declared 100 percent ready

HOUSTON, Oct. 1 (UPI) -- A Texas congressman toured one of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve sites Monday and declared it 100 percent ready to supply crude oil in a national emergency. Rep. Joe Barton, R-Texas, and two other Congressmen visited the Big Hill Storage Facility in southeast Texas where the oil in stored in underground caverns.
