May 2 (UPI) -- CBS All Access said Wednesday it ordered a third season of its Chicago legal dramedy The Good Fight, starring Christine Baranski and Cush Jumbo.

The show is a spinoff of the long-running program The Good Wife, which ran 2009-16. The new show features Rose Leslie, Audra McDonald, Sarah Steele, Justin Bartha, Michael Boatman, Nyambi Nyambi and Delroy Lindo.

Robert and Michelle King serve as showrunners and executive producers of The Good Fight, which they co-created with Phil Alden Robinson.

"The Good Fight is a perfect example of what we strive for a CBS All Access original series to be: thought-provoking, boundary-pushing and, most of all, incredibly entertaining," Julie McNamara, executive vice president original content for the television network's streaming division, said in a statement. "We can't wait to see what Robert and Michelle King, their creative team and the incomparable cast will bring to audiences in Season 3."

The news arrived on Baranski's 65th birthday.

All of Season 1 and the first nine episodes of Season 2 are now streaming. The second season is scheduled to wrap up May 27.
