'The 11th Hour' premieres in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 19 (UPI) -- Actor Leonardo Dicaprio can now add writing, narrating, producing and editing to his list of skills after the premiere of “The 11th Hour” in Los Angeles.

It almost seems as though DiCaprio ran a one-man show to create the newest Earth crisis documentary, which focuses on the environment, the Los Angeles Times reported Sunday.

Besides co-producing, narrating and editing the film, DiCaprio is also the one being targeted by the media for interviews.

And he even concedes his star power was probably part of Warner Independent Pictures' decision to pick up the privately financed film for distribution.

The documentary, which has been called both too dark and too hopeful, concludes that it would take a collective shift of individual determination to save the planet.

"When you get down to it, it was a homemade movie, really," said DiCaprio. "Everyone involved was just really passionate about donating their time and money to make it happen."
