Sterling K. Brown joins 'Black Panther' ensemble

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 6 (UPI) -- This is Us co-star Sterling K. Brown has joined the ensemble of Marvel's Black Panther.

The actor, who won an Emmy last year for his portrayal of L.A. prosecutor Christopher Darden in The People V. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, will play N'Jobu, "a figure from T'Challa a.k.a. Black Panther's past," Marvel said of Brown's next character.

Set for theatrical release on Feb. 16, 2018, the comic-book adaptation is being directed by Ryan Coogler. It will star Chadwick Boseman as the titular superhero and will feature Michael B. Jordan, Forest Whitaker, Lupita Nyong'o, Angela Bassett, Danai Gurira, Daniel Kaluuya, Winston Duke and Florence Kasumba.
