Former World No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki continued her strong showing in Asia by defeating unseeded Frenchwoman Kristina Mladenovic 6-1, 6-7 (4), 6-2 to win the Hong Kong Open on Sunday.

Wozniacki, who also won in Tokyo, has recorded 15 victories in her last 18 matches.

"You know your body and I knew it was going to take a while for me to get back and be back at 100 percent," said the fifth-seeded Dane, who has been plagued by ankle and wrist injuries this season. "But I never doubted that I could come back and make it here because I've worked too hard my whole life on my fitness to keep my body in shape.

"I was like, 'It's going to be OK, where it's going to be a month, two months, four months,' I knew eventually I would be back."

Wozniacki broke Mladenovic's serve on three occasions in the final set, and the latter required lengthy treatment for an undisclosed injury prior to the start of the second set.

"Obviously it wasn't easy mentally because sometimes she would look like she couldn't play then run like Speedy Gonzalez -- clearly it wasn't that bad, you can run from side to side. It was definitely a mental game," Wozniacki said.

Tianjin Open

Chinese veteran Peng Shuai captured her first career title with a 7-6 (3), 6-2 victory over American Alison Riske in Tianjin, China.

Peng, a former U.S. Open semifinalist who lives in Tianjin, was making her seventh finals appearance on the WTA Tour.

Peng needed to finish off some business prior to the title match, winning three straight games to post a 3-6, 7-5, 6-3 victory over Montenegro's Danka Kovinic in a rain-delayed semifinal match.

Riske upended second-seeded Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova 6-4, 5-7, 6-4 to complete her rain-delayed semifinal match.

Generali Ladies Linz

Second-seeded Dominika Cibulkova collected her third title of the year after posting a 6-3, 7-5 victory over Viktorija Golubic in Linz, Austria.

The win allowed Cibulkova to qualify for the WTA Finals for the first time in her career. The 27-year-old Slovakian will join Angelique Kerber, Serena Williams, Simona Halep, Agnieszka Radwanska, Karolina Pliskova and Garbine Muguruza in the singles field.

Cibulkova collected herself after squandering two break points in the first set before serving out the first set.
