May 18 (UPI) -- English forward Harry Kane's long tenure with Tottenham Hotspur could end soon, as the veteran forward told the Premier League club that he wants to leave this summer.
Sources told ESPN, Sky Sports and the Guardian that Kane informed the Spurs that he wants to depart from the team. Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea are among the clubs reaching out to Kane's agent about a potential transfer.
Kane, 27, signed a six-year contract with Spurs in 2018. The deal expires after the 2024 season.
Kane scored his 32nd goal of the season, in all competitions, in a 2-0 win over Wolves on Sunday in London. He has 22 goals and 13 assists this Premier League campaign.
With 220 goals in 334 career competitions, the England captain is widely regarded as one of the best Spurs players in history.
Kane's 172 Premier League goals since 2014 are the most for any player over that span. Despite Kane's individual success, he never has won a Premier League title.
The Spurs host Aston Villa in another Premier League game at 1 p.m. EDT Wednesday at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. They finish the 2020-21 Premier League campaign against Leicester City at 11 a.m. EDT Sunday at King Power Stadium in Leicester, England.
Kane started his senior career with Tottenham in 2009.
