The 37-year-old Swedish strike announced the news with a video posted to social media. The 19-second clip featured voiceovers from various news outlets, speculating that he was leaving MLS for another tenure in Europe.

"MLZ I'm not done with you yet," Ibrahimovic wrote for the caption on the video, jokingly inserting his name into the soccer league.

The video also features Ibrahimovic standing in the Galaxy locker room, before it ends with a Galaxy logo.

Ibrahimovic won the 2018 MLS Newcomer of the Year award and finished third in the voting for the 2018 Landon Donovan MLS Most Valuable Player award. He also scored his 500th career goal this season while playing for the Galaxy. Ibrahimovic also claimed the MLS Goal of the Year award.
