Dec. 17 (UPI) -- Liverpool vs. Bayern Munich and Manchester United vs. Paris Saint-Germain were among the matchups announced on Monday for the Champions League round of 16.
The draw took place at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.

Dec. 17 (UPI) -- Liverpool vs. Bayern Munich and Manchester United vs. Paris Saint-Germain were among the matchups announced on Monday for the Champions League round of 16. The draw took place at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.
Other matchups include: FC Schalke vs. Manchester City, Atletico Madrid vs. Juventus, Tottenham Hotspur vs. Borussia Dortmund, FC Barcelona vs. Olympique Lyonnais, AS Roma vs. FC Porto, and AFC Ajax vs. Real Madrid.
Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain share a schedule with Roma and Porto. Those matchups take place on Feb, 12 and March 6.
Tottenham Hotspur, Borussia Dortmund, Ajax and Real Madrid face off on Feb. 13 and March 5. Lyon, Barcelona, Liverpool and Bayern take to the pitch on Feb. 19 and March 13.
Schalke, Manchester City, Atletico and Juventus battles on Feb. 20 and March 12.
All games kickoff at 3 p.m. EDT.
"I think they are great on the counter-attack, from what we've seen," Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde told FCBarcelona.com regarding Lyon. "But now we have to find out a little bit more about them."
Barcelona has not lost to Lyon in six previous meetings.
"Difficult. Good draw," Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp told LiverpoolFC.com. "It was clear it would be difficult [and] they are obviously a top side. For me it's nice, going to Germany. But it's just the draw. So we have now time to prepare the game, a lot of time obviously, and hopefully we have all our players available then. It will be a tough one, an interesting one, and I am looking forward to it."
Klopp has nine wins, four draws and 16 losses in 29 matches against Bayern.
The Champions League quarterfinal and semifinal draws occur on March 15. The final is set for June 1 at Wanda Metropolitano in Madrid.
