Dec. 9 (UPI) -- Welsh forward Gareth Bale scored the only goal in Real Madrid's 1-0 win against Huesca in La Liga on Sunday at El Alcoraz Stadium in Huesca, Spain.

The score came in the 8th minute of the clash. Alvaro Odriozola provided the assist.

Odriozola picked up a pass along the right flank during the sequence. He dribbled on the outside of the Huesca box before firing a cross toward the far-post.

Bale came flying into the box and used his left boot to send a powerful volley into the far-post netting.

"He and the rest of the team were all fantastic," Real Madrid manager Santiago Solari told the team website when asked about Bale. "He scored a great goal and it was enough to get the win. His goal and the general character of the team were crucial in taking all three points".

The score ended Bale's 10-game drought without a goal in La Liga play. Real Madrid now trails La Liga leader Barcelona by five points.

Real Madrid battles CSKA Moscow in the group stage of the Champions League at 12:55 p.m. on Wednesday at Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid.
