Nov. 29 (UPI) -- Gregg Berhalter will be the next coach of the United States Men's National Team.
A source familiar with negotiations between Berhalter and the U.S. Soccer Federation told the Columbus Dispatch on Saturday that a "deal is done." A source confirmed to CBS Sports on Wednesday that Berhalter would be hired.
Berhalter, 45, will be the 37th coach in team history. He has coached the Columbus Crew since 2013. He posted a 74-69-50 as coach of the Crew, including an MLS Cup final appearance in 2015.
Before his move to coaching, Berhalter had 44 appearances for the senior national team. He also played for the Los Angeles Galaxy when the squad won the MLS Cup in 2011. He also played at North Carolina, and in England and Germany.
U.S. Soccer is expected to make an official announcement in the coming days.
