Nov. 25 (UPI) -- Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's 67th minute score helped Arsenal fend off Bournemouth in a 2-1 win on Sunday at Dean Court in Bournemouth, England.
The Gunners took a 1-0 lead in the Premier League clash with an own goal from Jefferson Lerma in the 30th minute. Arsenal had the ball in the Bournemouth box during the disastrous sequence. The Colombian midfielder came sliding in to deflect a cross.
But the deflection ended up being a strike into the near post netting of his own goal.
Bournemouth fought back for an equalizer just before the halftime whistle as Joshua King beat Bernd Leno in first half stoppage time.
Midfielder David Brooks slid a pass to his right to find King on the play. King booted a strike into the far post netting to make the score 1-1 at the break.
The squads played an even opening 20 minutes in the second half before Aubameyang settled things. Gunners midfielder Sead Kolasinac chased down a ball in the Bournemouth box on that play. He then sent a pass in front of the goal, leading Aubameyang as he bolted in for a sliding strike into the net.
