Gonzalo Escalante began the scoring for the home squad, cleaning up a strike in the Madrid box in the 16th minute and netting it past Thibaut Courtois.

Eibar took the 1-0 advantage into halftime before tacking on two more scores in the second half.

Striker Sergi Enrich added a second score for Eibar after receiving a pass in the box from midfielder Marc Cucurella. Enrich settled the pass before blasting a shot into the left side of the net past a diving Courtois in the 52nd minute.

Enrich assisted Eibar's final tally just five minutes later. The forward was about five yards from the goal when he flicked on a Cucurella pass from the corner with his back to the goal. The ball fell into Kike, who blasted a shot into the open Madrid net.

"Many things happened," Madrid manager Santiago Solari told reporters, according to the team website. "First and foremost, they had a great game and we didn't at all. We had chances to score but failed to do so. Then they scored in a transition from a corner and we must fix that element of our game, but the second goal really hurt us."
