Nov. 7 (UPI) -- Cristiano Ronaldo's first Champions League score in a Juventus uniform came in a 2-1 loss to Manchester United on Wednesday in Turin, Italy.
CR7 scored the goal off of a volley in the 65th minute. Ronaldo out-sprinted the Red Devils' defense during the sequence. Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci spotted the superstar up the seam and sent him a beautiful looping long ball.
The feed dropped to Ronaldo in the middle of the box, where he let it fall over his shoulder and onto his right boot, before blasting a shot into the near post netting.
But the Red Devils ended up getting the equalizer in the 86th minute, to nix Juventus' chance at a victory. Juan Mata got that score with a beautifully placed free kick from just outside the box. The ball sailed into the upper lefthand corner for the equalizer, beating Juventus keeper Wojciech Szczesny.
The Red Devils got their final tally via own goal in the 90th minute. Juventus left back Alex Sandro was the culprit during the mishap, deflecting a free kick past his own goalkeeper for the game-winner.
