June 11 (UPI) -- Seven-time champion Serena Williams 'should be ready' to participate in Wimbledon, according to her coach.

Patrick Mouratoglou gave an update on the 23-time Grand Slam winner Saturday on BBC Radio 5 live. Williams also posted a short Instagram story showing herself Monday on a tennis court.

"Within two weeks she should recover and will be able to hit again," Mouratoglou said.

"Then she has 15 days to do a lot of fitness and improve her speed on court. She should be ready for Wimbledon."

Williams, 36, has not provided an update on her injured pectoral muscle since saying on June 5 that she was having an MRI during a recording on Instagram. She said she received "super exciting news."

A New York surgeon told UPI that it was "possible" for Williams to be 100 percent healthy for the tournament, depending on the results of the MRI.

Williams pulled out of the 2018 French Open last week, ahead of a fourth-round match against Maria Sharapova. She said she could no longer play in the tournament because she was unable to serve.

Mouratoglou said Williams risked tearing the muscle if she would have continued playing at Roland Garros.

Wimbledon begins on July 2 in London. Williams is ranked No. 183 in the world. She was slotted at No. 454 by the Women's Tennis Association before the French Open.
