Jan. 17 (UPI) -- Brazilian striker Neymar netted four goals in PSG's win vs. Dijon, but he received boos from the home crowd.

He scored the flurry of goals Wednesday in Paris Saint-Germain's 8-0 trashing at the Parc des Princes. Neymar also had two assists in the victory.

PSG got the scoring started in the fourth minute on a goal from Angel Di Maria. Neymar hit a ball to Di Maria in the 15th minute to put his team up 2-0.

Uruguayan forward Edinson Cavani made it 3-0 with a score in the 21st minute, before the Brazilian superstar took over.

Neymar netted a free kick from just outside the box in the 42nd minute for his first score of the match. French keeper Baptiste Reynet stuck to his spot like he was super glued to the pitch during the Neymar effort, watching the ball coast into the right corner.

Neymar made the score 5-0 in the 57th minute when he pushed in a botched Dijon clearance into the far post. He struck again in the 73rd minute, dribbling from nearly midfield before coasting into the box and placing a grounder into the near post past Reynet.

Kylian Mbappe scored in the 77th minute to give the home squad a 7-0 advantage.

Neymar scored his final goal of the match in the 83rd minute on a penalty kick. But the fans weren't overly excited about it, as they let out some boos. Cavani had tied the PSG record for goals with his previous score and supporters wanted him to become the club's all-time leading scorer with the penalty kick.

BT Sport reported that Neymar was upset by the booing.

Cavani is currently tied with Zlatan Ibrahimovic with 156 goals for PSG.

"I think Neymar took the penalty because it was also a good day for him," PSG boss Unai Emery said in his post match comments.

"We're happy with it. But there will be lots more chances for Cavani to score more goals."
