"Few words can express what it means to me and my family to continue representing Toronto FC," Moor said in a news release from the club. "We have experienced a lot of special moments both on and off the field in Toronto, the club has given us so much these past two years and there is nowhere else we'd want to be."

"I can't wait to get back to work with my teammates, coaches and staff ahead of the 2018 season as we defend our MLS Cup championship."

The 33-year-old had two goals and an assists in 34 appearances for Toronto FC, including the MLS regular season, Canadian Championship and the MLS Cup playoffs.

For his career, Moor has 27 goals and eight assists in 384 appearances. He joined Toronto FC on Dec. 16, 2015 as the club's first free agent signing. The 13-year MLS veteran spent seven seasons with the Colorado Rapids, who won the 2010 MLS Cup Championship.

Moor entered the league as the No. 6 overall pick by FC Dallas in the 2005 MLS SuperDraft.

"Drew has been an important part of our club's successes for the past two seasons," Toronto FC senior vice president of soccer operations and general manager Tim Bezbatchenko said in a news release.

"Both sides eagerly wanted to ensure this partnership would continue beyond 2017. He and his family chose Toronto two years ago as a free agent. We're happy they have committed to stay and that we're able to keep a man of great character as well as an important, experienced leader as we defend our championship next season."

Moor tweeted a note to fans after the signing was announced.

"These past 2 years have been a dream for me and my family," Moor wrote. "And so...we're gonna keep dreaming and head back to BMO in 2018. Thanks to everyone who has supported us in this adventure, let's keep it rollin."
