Nov. 27 (UPI) -- Manchester City star Raheem Sterling helped power his team to a win with a late goal against Huddersfield.
Sterling's squad left John Smith's Stadium with a 2-1 win Sunday in the Premier League matchup. Huddersfield took the lead early on when Nicholas Otamendi scored on an own goal at the 45+1 minute mark.
That ball went in when the Manchester City defender deflected a corner kick the wrong way with his upper body and into the right side of the net.
City got even in the second half, when Sterling was taken down inside the box by Huddersfield defender Scott Malone in the 47th minute. Sergio Aguero placed a shot into the right side of the net, past a diving Jonas Lossl, during the free kick to tie the match at 1-1.

Then it was up to Sterling. The 22-year-old Jamaican hit a nice give-and-go at the top of the box, before flashing in toward goal. He dribbled in from the right side before giving it up to midfielder Kevin De Bruyne, whose pass back was curled inside toward goal. Florent Hadergjonaj slid to fire in a shot, which was deflected by Lossl.
But Sterling followed the attempt, getting a piece of it with his right boot. The ball sailed over his head and dropped perfectly into the far post for the decisive score.
"We went in at halftime disappointed -- we were on the front foot and conceded late on," Sterling told the team website.
"In the dressing room, we talked about getting something out of the game."
City dominated possession in the match, controlling the ball 80 percent of the time. The visitors also outshot the home squad 14 to 4 on the English pitch.
