Aug. 23 (UPI) -- Cristiano Ronaldo simply shrugged after netting a ridiculous goal Wednesday in Real Madrid's 2-1 win against Fiorentina.

Ronaldo is currently serving a five-game suspension, but only for league games. He was allowed to play in the friendly at the Bernabeu in Madrid.

And play he did.

The 32-year-old superstar was given the suspension by the Royal Spanish Football Federation after a run-in with a referee on August 14 in Madrid's 3-1 victory over Barcelona. Ronaldo was given a red card and followed the referee before pushing him away.

Madrid was tied 1-1 at the 32 minute mark Wednesday before the striker eyed the opposing net. He sprinted down the left flank. He deked inside the defender with his left foot before scooting the ball away from the goal. The defender lost his balance and Ronaldo ripped a shot to the far post with his right boot. The perfect strike went over the goalkeeper and into the side netting.

Ronaldo gave a subtle shoulder motion as his teammates celebrated. The Portuguese star now has five goals and one assist this year for club in country.

"That's what this man is capable of, we're happy to have him here," Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane told the team website. "We put in a disciplined display and made a good start. I'm happy because the fans came out in their numbers and that was very important for us. We achieved what we wanted to, the trophy remains here and we all head home happy".

"We got what we were hoping for, gave those players who hadn't had much of a chance some minutes and that's what these games are for. Ceballos, Marcos, Borja, Cristiano all got some game time...now we have to rest up and tomorrow we'll start thinking about our LaLiga game against Valencia, which is coming around quickly".

Madrid battles Valencia at 10:15 p.m. Sunday at the Bernabeu in La Liga action. Ronaldo can't return to league play until September 20 when Madrid faces Real Betis.
