Aug. 17 (UPI) -- Striker Luis Suarez will miss at least one month after suffering a knee injury in Barcelona's 2-0 loss Wednesday to Real Madrid.

The news is yet another hit to Barcelona's attack, as the squad lost Neymar earlier this month when he transferred to Paris Saint-Germain.

The Uruguayan has a "distension in the posterior articular capsule in his right knee," according to the team website.

Barcelona defender Gerard Piqué is also doubtful for the team's next game against Betis because of a groin strain.

Suarez's injury was confirmed Thursday after medical tests. He suffered the injury in the second half of El Clásico in the Santiago Bernabeu. Suarez will likely miss Barcelona's games against Betis, Alaves, Espanyol and possibly Getafe CF in September.

Barcelona's next game is at 8:15 p.m. Sunday in La Liga action at Camp Nou. The squad is 4-2-1 in all matches in 2017.

Suarez, 30, has one goal in five games this year for Barcelona. He had 38 goals and 18 assists for the squad in 2016 and 62 goals and 22 assists for Barcelona in 2015. He joined the squad in 2014.
