Luis Suarez says FC Barcelona will love Neymar even if he leaves

July 29 (UPI) -- FC Barcelona stars Luis Suarez and Andres Iniesta are already tired of answering questions about Neymar's transfer and scrimmage scuffle.

But on Friday they cleared up a few things.

One: Neymar's run-in with teammate Nelson Semedo during Thursday's training session in Miami was "nothing."

And two: Even if the Brazilian soccer sensation jets from the Spanish club to Paris Saint Germain, he will still be loved.

"I don't want to call it an incident, but it [Neymar fight] did happen," Iniesta said Friday at Hard Rock Stadium, before Barca battles rival Real Madrid Saturday in Miami.

"But because of the situation and what is being said about [Neymar], which is worldwide, it has much more significance. For those of us who are training however, it's nothing."

Semedo joined Barcelona in July after a transfer with Benfica. Neymar has been with Barca since 2013.

Suarez, who joined Barca in 2014, said the club will still love Neymar even if he leaves.

"It will be a pity if he leaves Barcelona," Suarez said.

"If he leaves, it will not change our love for him. We all want him to stay. He is one of the best three players in the world and we need to enjoy him."

"As soon as he clarifies the situation it's better for us and him. He will have his say when he is ready and as a teammate I will support him," Suarez added.

Iniesta said that Neymar is "more valuable than $200 million or $300 million."

"For me, he is one of the best players in the world," Iniesta said. "He brings so much to the team and hopefully he will stay for many years."

"His playing style suits us and he can only improve with us."

"We would like you [the press] to not keep asking [about Neymar] so much, but to end this, there is only one way: Neymar will speak," Iniesta said.

Neymar's transfer fee is about $260 million, which Barcelona would receive. He has three goals in two games this year after a 24-goal, 24-assist campaign last season for Barcelona and Brazil.

"I do not think 200-300 million will be more beneficial for Barcelona than having Neymar," Iniesta said.

The players also spoke about competing in El Clásico outside of Spain. Saturday marks the second time ever that the game has been played in another country. A 1982 El Clásico match took place in Venezuela.

"It's a bit strange to play Madrid in the preseason and so far from home," Iniesta said. "It's all part of our preparations and it'll be a nice game and a special one too because it's a Clásico. I hope we put on a great show, considering the stage of the season we are at. It's all about getting into our rhythm and gaining confidence."

Saturday's contest is expected to be sold out, despite not including Portugal superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, who stayed back in Spain.

"It doesn't bother me that Cristiano isn't here for tomorrow," Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane said. "He has to make the most of his holiday. The rest are ready."

About 27,000 fans attended the Friday training session, according to the Barcelona website.
