Just two minutes later, Panama's Ismael Diaz tied the score with left-footed shot from the center of the box to the top left section of the goal. Miguel Camargo was credited with an assist on that goal.

In the 57th minute, Panama took the lead off a set piece. Roderick Miller got the assist on the goal by Gabriel Torres, whose right-footer shot from the center of the box got through for the go-ahead goal.

Panama finished with 14 shots, seven of which were on goal, while Nicaragua had nine shots, with five being on target.
