A German general manager said U.S. men's national team coach Jurgen Klinsmann is in discussions about becoming England's national coach, The Guardian of London reported.

Germany general manager, Oliver Bierhoff, told The Guardian that Klinsmann, who starred for Germany as a player, spoke to members of the Football Association regarding the vacant England head coach job. Bierhoff also said Klinsmann would be a good choice.

Neither Klinsmann nor U.S. officials have made any comment regarding the report.

Last month, Klinsmann led the United States to a fourth-place finish at the Copa America. He is a World Cup and European Championship winner who has experience in the English Premier League as a player with Tottenham Hotspur.

Bierhoff told The Guardian that England officials have merely had discussions with Klinsmann.

"It's not like putting a hand on the shoulder and everything happens," said Bierhoff in the report. "A lot of things need to come together."
