The New York Yankees defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 1-0 during a spring training game at Lecom Park in Bradenton, Fla., on Sunday. Opening day is Thursday, except for two games already played between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Diego Padres in Korea.
