Dec. 10 (UPI) -- Brock Boeser's shot went in the net after it bounced off the glass behind the goal and off of the keeper during the Vancouver Canucks win against St. Louis.

The odd shot occurred just a few minutes into the Canucks' 6-1 win against the Blues on Sunday at Enterprise Center in St. Louis. The Blues and Canucks were scoreless when Boeser ripped Vancouver's first shot of the game.

Canucks center Elias Pettersson cleared the puck from behind the goal, sending it out in front of the net for Boeser, who slapped a wrist shot over the goal. The puck slammed into the glass behind the net and came back over the goal. It then hit net-minder Jake Allen in the back and fell into the net.

"I just wanted to get a shot on net there," Boeser told reporters. "It hit the guy's skate, hit off of the back glass and then I saw it go up and I'm like, 'please hit him in the back.' It is nice. You just gotta laugh. There are other chances you get in games where you should score on legit goals and then something like that goes in. It's hard not to laugh."

Pettersson lit the lamp himself about 10 minutes later, before assisting Boeser for a second time in the period for a 3-0 advantage. Bo Horvat put in his 14th goal of the season in the second frame before Pettersson picked up another assist on a Nikolay Goldobin score.

Jordan Kyrou lit the lamp for St. Louis 8:05 into the final frame before Pettersson assisted Boeser's third goal of the game 40 seconds later.

The Canucks face the Columbus Blue Jackets at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Nationwide Arnea in Columbus.

"I've been getting chances lately and our line has been playing solid hockey," Boeser said. "But they haven't gone in. It's nice to get a few lucky bounces and get the hat trick."
