Nov. 30 (UPI) -- Philadelphia Flyers mascot Gritty sank a half-court heave at halftime of the Rutgers and Michigan State basketball game on Friday.
The Spartans won the game 78-67, but not before the bearded mascot provided some entertainment for the home crowd at the Rutgers Athletic Center in Piscataway, N.J.
Gritty held the ball in both hands before taking a few steps and sending up the prayer. The shot swished in, delighting the crowd.
But Gritty wasn't finished performing. He immediately jumped on the floor for a splits celebration before walking off of the court.
The Flyers face the Pittsburgh Penguins at 7 p.m. on Saturday in Pittsburgh.

Philadelphia introduced the world to Gritty in September. He was in attendance at the game to help celebrate the Scarlet Knight mascot's birthday.
