Oilers' Connor McDavid scores 100th NHL goal

Nov. 21 (UPI) -- Edmonton Oilers star Connor McDavid netted his 100th career goal in a 4-3 win against the San Jose Sharks.

The score tied the game at the 8:09 mark in the first period of the victory on Tuesday at the SAP Center in San Jose, Calif. McDavid worked the puck at the blue line at the start of the play. Adam Larsson took a feed from McDavid, before firing a pass toward the goal.

McDavid came flying in and received a crafty pass from Leon Draisaitl before slipping a shot past Martin Jones' stick side.

Joonas Donskoi started the scoring, lighting the lamp 45 seconds into the bout for the Sharks. Marcus Sorensen answered McDavid's goal with another tally for the sharks 10:32 into the first period.

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins tied the score at 2-2 with a goal for the Oilers 1:46 second period. Logan Couture answered for the Sharks with a score at the end of the bridge frame.

Drake Caggiula scored his seventh goal of the season to tie the score in the third period for the Oilers. McDavid assisted Draisaitl for the overtime winner to win the game for Edmonton.

The Oilers face the Anaheim Ducks at 4 p.m. on Friday at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.
