June 4 (UPI) -- The Vegas Golden Knights will have Tomas Tatar back in the lineup for Game 4 of the Stanley Cup finals Monday in Washington, D.C.

Tatar has been a healthy scratch in the last five games.

"He's a goalscorer," Golden Knights coach Gerard Gallant told reporters. "We wanted to change the lineup a little bit, obviously losing two games in a row, so it gives us a little bit more offense."

"He brings offense. He can shoot a puck. He's good for our power play. He's going to play his game and play it the way we play our systems and he'll work hard. He's excited to play, that's for sure."

Gallant said Sunday that he was considering the change. Tatar found out Sunday night that he was playing in Game 4.

Tatar, 27, had 16 goals and 12 assists for the Detroit Red Wings before being traded to the Golden Knights on Feb. 26. He scored four goals and had two assists in 20 games this season for the Golden Knights. Tatar has played in 82 games for three consecutive seasons and missed just one game in the last five seasons.

Several reporters questioned Gallant on Monday, asking if the Tatar move meant that David Perron is not in the lineup. Gallant pushed back by saying that he never announced Perron was leaving the lineup.

Perron, 30, has eight assists but has not scored this postseason. He has just one postseason goal since the 2011-2012 Stanley Cup playoffs. The Capitals hold a 2-1 lead in the series against the Golden Knights.

Game 4 starts at 8 p.m. Monday at Capital One Arena. Game 5 is at 8 p.m. Thursday in Las Vegas.
