May 18 (UPI) -- Tampa Bay Lightning left wing Alex Killorn scored the go-ahead goal against the Washington Capitals in Game 4 of the NHL's Eastern Conference finals.
The Lightning tied the series 2-2 with the victory Thursday at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.
Killorn lit the lamp 11:57 into the third period, putting the Lightning up 3-2. Anthony Cirelli got the final score of the night with just two seconds remaining in regulation.
"Tonight was so important because going down 3-1 series is tremendously different than going into a series 2-2," Killorn told reporters. "Now when you go back home you think the way that we played at home in the past two games, we have to play a lot better."
The Capitals got on the board first when Dmitry Orlov scored 4:28 into the first period. Brayden Point and Steven Stamkos also scored in the first period, giving Tampa Bay a 2-1 edge.
Evgeny Kuznetsov tied the game, scoring his 10th goal of the Stanley Cup playoffs 5:18 into the bridge period.
Then came Killorn's score. Ondrej Palat skated behind the Capitals net on the play. He then passed to a hovering Killorn, who brought in the puck before slipping it through Braden Holtby's five hole.
The Lightning and Capitals face off in Game 5 at 7:15 p.m. Saturday at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla.
