Vancouver Canucks land Nic Dowd from Los Angeles Kings

The Vancouver Canucks acquired forward Nic Dowd from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for defenseman Jordan Subban late Thursday night.

Dowd, 27, has appeared in 16 games with the Kings this season, registering one assist. He ranked fourth on the team in faceoff-win percentage. Last season, his first full NHL season, he had six goals and 16 assists. Dowd was a seventh-round pick of the Kings in 2009.

Subban, 22, played in 16 games with AHL Utica this year, collecting five assists and 13 penalty minutes.

Drafted in the fourth-round by Vancouver during in 2013, Subban has appeared in 148 regular-season games over three seasons with Utica, scoring 27 goals, 50 assists and 87 penalty minutes. He has no NHL experience.

Jordan Subban is the younger brother of Nashville Predators defenseman P.K. Subban and Vegas Golden Knights goaltender Malcolm Subban.
