New York Islanders forward Nikolay Kulemin will be sidelined at least six months after undergoing surgery to repair an undisclosed upper-body injury, the team announced Monday.
That timeline puts Kulemin in jeopardy of missing the remainder of the regular season, which ends on April 7. Kulemin was injured following a hit from defenseman Eric Gryba during New York's 2-1 overtime loss to the Edmonton Oilers on Nov. 7.
