The Calgary Flames signed forward Tanner Glass to a one-year contract, the team announced on Tuesday.
Fellow forward Luke Gazdic was assigned to Stockton of the American Hockey League to make room for Glass, who split last season between the New York Rangers and their AHL affiliate in Hartford.
Glass collected one goal, one assist and 17 penalty minutes in 11 games with the Rangers. The 33-year-old Saskatchewan native scored six goals and set up nine others in 57 contests with the Wolf Pack.
Glass has recorded 24 goals, 45 assists and 639 penalty minutes in 511 career games with Florida Panthers, Vancouver Canucks, Winnipeg Jets, Pittsburgh Penguins and Rangers.
Gazdic, 28, failed to notch a point in 11 games with New Jersey last season and has eight points (five goals, three assists) to go along with 206 penalty minutes in 147 career contests with the Edmonton Oilers and Devils.
