The Nashville Predators signed defenseman Joonas Lyytinen to a two-year entry-level contract on Monday.

Lyytinen, 22, played his fourth season with KalPa of the Finnish League in 2016-17, helping the club to a silver medal while tying for fourth in postseason points with seven (two goals, five assists) among defensemen. He also tied for seventh in the league with eight goals and 14th in points (24) among defensemen during the regular season.

The Espoo, Finland native was selected by Nashville in the fifth round of the 2014 NHL draft. Lyytinen represented Finland in the 2015 World Junior Championship on a team that also included current Predators backup goaltender Juuse Saros.
