New York Rangers acquire F Taylor Beck from Edmonton Oilers for F Justin Fontaine

The New York Rangers acquired Taylor Beck from the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday for fellow forward Justin Fontaine.

Beck has posted career highs with 37 assists and 50 points in 40 games this season with Bakersfield of the American Hockey League. The 25-year-old Ontario native also has 13 goals to go along with a plus-12 rating and 18 penalty minutes.

Beck recorded four penalty minutes in three games with the Oilers this season and has 11 goals and 12 assists in 90 career contests with the Nashville Predators, New York Islanders and Oilers.

Fontaine, who hasn't played in the NHL since the 2015-16 season, has 27 goals and 41 assists in 197 career NHL games with the Minnesota Wild. The 29-year-old Alberta native has registered nine goals, 21 assists and 20 penalty minutes in 50 games this season with Hartford of the AHL.
