Minnesota Wild 6, Detroit Red Wings 3

SAINT PAUL, Minn. -- Minnesota got a pair of goals by Zach Parise in the third period to overpower a tired Detroit team.

The Wild also got goals from Mikael Granlund, Nino Niederreiter, Charlie Coyle and Christian Folin to improve to 4-0-1 in their past five games. Devan Dubnyk had 30 saves for Minnesota, which took a two-goal lead four times in the game only to see Detroit continue to answer until running out of gas late.

The Red Wings played in Columbus less than 24 hours earlier and trailed by two after the first period, but got goals from Anthony Mantha, Henrik Zetterberg and Andreas Athanasiou to stay in the game. Jared Coreau had 23 saves for Detroit, which has lost four in a row.

New York Islanders 5, Colorado Avalanche 1

NEW YORK -- Anders Lee scored twice in the third period as New York pulled away from Colorado at Barclays Center.

Nick Leddy scored in the first, Ryan Strome scored the go-ahead goal in the second and Jason Chimera added a goal in the third for the Islanders, who won for the third time in four games (3-1-0) and the ninth time in 13 games (9-2-2) dating back to Jan. 16.

Joe Colborne scored for the NHL-worst Avalanche, who have lost three straight (0-3-0) and 17 of 20 (3-16-1) since the holiday break.

Nashville Predators 5, Dallas Stars 3

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- About to head into a five-day break with a pair of poorly played home losses, Nashville stormed back from a three-goal deficit to hand Dallas a potentially crushing loss.

Roman Josi scored twice, and Calle Jarnkrok, Filip Forsberg and Mike Fisher on each for the Predators.

Jamie Benn, Patrick Sharp and Devin Shore scored for the Stars.

San Jose Sharks 4, New Jersey Devils 1

NEWARK, N.J. -- San Jose skated over New Jersey at the Prudential Center.

The Sharks were 0-2-1 in the first three games of their trip out East, but Brent Burns scored twice, Joe Thornton added a goal and an assist, Tomas Hertl added a goal and Martin Jones made 21 saves to help guarantee a happy flight back across the country.

Cory Schneider stopped all 19 shots he faced in the first period and finished with 34 saves, and PA Parenteau scored for the Devils.

Boston Bruins 4, Montreal Canadiens 0

BOSTON -- Tuukka Rask made 25 saves for the first home regular-season win of his career vs. Montreal, as Boston recorded the win at TD Garden.

Rask, who came in 0-9-3 at home against the rival Canadiens, pitched his sixth shutout of the season and the 36th of his career as his team beat Montreal in Boston for the first time since Jan. 12, 2012.

Peter Cehlarik handed out two assists, and Adam McQuaid, Zdeno Chara (short-handed), David Krejci and Frank Vatrano scored goals for the Bruins. Krejci added an assist.

Vancouver Canucks 4, Buffalo Sabres 2

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Michael Chaput scored twice to lead Vancouver over Buffalo.

Bo Horvat and Alexandre Burrows also scored for the Canucks. Jacob Markstrom made 26 saves.

Tyler Ennis and Kyle Okposo scored for the Sabres and Robin Lehner made 27 saves.
