New York Rangers 4, Colorado Avalanche 2

NEW YORK -- Henrik Lundqvist became just the 12th goaltender to win 400 career games in the National Hockey League on Saturday as the New York Rangers rallied for a 4-2 victory over the Colorado Avalanche in front of a celebratory crowd at Madison Square Garden.

Lundqvist made 32 saves in his milestone victory, and Kevin Klein scored twice, as the Rangers (36-18-1) extended their winning streak to five consecutive games and finished off a sweep of a four-game homestand.

Fans stood on their feet in the closing minute of the game, saluting Lundqvist, who also became only the third goalie in league history to win 400 games with one franchise and the first European-born goalie to ever record 400 victories in the NHL.

Trailing 2-1 entering the third period, the Rangers scored twice in the opening 5:36 of the period to regain the lead. Klein hammered a slap shot past Avalanche goaltender Calvin Pickard at 2:50, and Rick Nash scored his 16th goal of the season less than three minutes later off a gorgeous set-up from Derek Stepan.

Philadelphia Flyers 2, San Jose Sharks 1 (OT)

PHILADELPHIA -- Wayne Simmonds scored 64 seconds into overtime, stripping Brent Burns of the puck and beating goaltender Aaron Dell on a breakaway to give Philadelphia a win over San Jose.

Rookie defenseman Ivan Provorov scored the Flyers' other goal and Michal Neuvirth stopped 23 of 24 shots to halt a three-game losing streak for the Flyers.

Patrick Marleau netted the only goal for the Sharks, who lost for the fourth straight time and fell to 33-19-5.

Dallas Stars 5, Carolina Hurricanes 2

DALLAS -- Patrick Eaves scored two goals and Kari Lehtonen made 22 saves to help Dallas snap a four-game losing streak.

Appearing in his 600th career game, Eaves first scored in the opening period and added a second tally late in the middle frame, giving him a career-high 21 goals this season.

Esa Lindell, Curtis McKenzie, who also had an assist, and Adam Cracknell also scored for Dallas. Jamie Benn added two assists.

Boston Bruins 4, Vancouver Canucks 3

BOSTON -- David Pastrnak provided the heroics by scoring a spectacular goal with two minutes left to give Boston interim coach Bruce Cassidy his second straight win.

Pastranak took a long pass from David Krejci, went 1-on-1 with defenseman Christopher Tanev, stopped, drew the puck back and beat Ryan Miller with his 25th goal of the season.

In the last three games, Pastrnak has five goals and four assists.

Ottawa Senators 3, New York Islanders 0

OTTAWA -- Craig Anderson made 33 saves in his first game since Dec. 5 to lead Ottawa over New York.

The shutout was the 37th of his career for Anderson, who rejoined the Senators following the All-Star break after being away on personal leave as his wife battles cancer.

Mark Stone, Zack Smith and Jean-Gabriel Pageau scored for the Senators. Thomas Greiss made 21 saves for the Islanders.

Florida Panthers 7, Nashville Predators 4

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Six players scored goals and four of them tallied in a crazy second period as Florida dumped Nashville.

Vincent Trocheck picked up two goals and an assist for the Panthers, while 44-year-old Jaromir Jagr started the outburst with his 10th goal of the season and the 1,899th point of his legendary career.

It was just the fourth time that Florida's potted five or more goals in a game this season.

Columbus Blue Jackets 2, Detroit Red Wings 1

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Boone Jenner and Cam Atkinson scored goals and Sergei Bobrovsky made 35 saves to lead Columbus over Detroit.

Thomas Vanek had the lone goal for Detroit. Petr Mrazek stopped 37 of 39 shots for the Red Wings.

Atkinson's goal was his 27th of the season, tying a career high he set last season. Jenner's goal was his 10th of the season.

Washington Capitals 6, Anaheim Ducks 4

WASHINGTON -- Rookie Zach Sanford scored his first NHL goal with 2:39 left in the third period and Washington defeated Anaheim for its 12th straight home victory.

Sanford, replacing the injured Andre Burakovsky in the lineup, took a pass from Brett Connolly and fired from the slot. Goaltender John Gibson got a piece of it, but the puck trickled in.

Anaheim trailed 4-1 in the second and 4-2 entering the third, but Ryan Kesler pulled the Ducks within 4-3 at 9:38 after a Washington turnover and Ryan Getzlaf tied it when he scored on a breakaway at 11:48.

Buffalo Sabres 3, Toronto Maple Leafs 1

TORONTO -- Evander Kane scored two goals in the first period and Buffalo went on to defeat Toronto.

Jack Eichel had three assists for the Sabres and Sam Reinhart had a goal and an assist.

Sabres goaltender Robin Lehner made 43 saves in helping to hold off the Maple Leafs, who applied third-period pressure and came close a couple times.

Tampa Bay Lightning 4, Winnipeg Jets 1

WINNIPEG, Manitoba -- Tampa Bay made it look easy, skating away with a victory over free-falling Winnipeg.

Lightning goaltender Ben Bishop stopped 31 of 32 shots. The pending unrestricted free agent has given up just one goal in his past two starts.

Tampa Bay is unbeaten in regulation in its past four games.

St. Louis Blues 4, Montreal Canadiens 2

MONTREAL -- Patrik Berglund scored a hat trick to lift St. Louis to a victory against Montreal at the Bell Centre.

Al Montoya stopped 18 shots for the Canadiens while Jake Allen made 28 saves for St. Louis.

David Perron also scored for the Blues, who matched a season-high four-game winning streak.

Arizona Coyotes 4, Pittsburgh Penguins 3 (OT)

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Connor Murphy scored his first goal of the season with 21.8 seconds left in overtime to give Arizona a victory over Pittsburgh at Gila River Arena.

Martin Hanzal scored two goals to boost his team-leading season total to 12 and Tobias Rieder contributed the other goal for the Coyotes, who improved to 5-2-1 in their last eight games.

Mike Smith was strong in goal with 27 saves for Arizona despite a mishap that led to Pittsburgh's second goal.

Chicago Blackhawks 5, Edmonton Oilers 1

EDMONTON, Alberta -- With Chicago playing its third game in four nights and 60 minutes away from its turn at the CBA-mandated five-day break, there was concern they wouldn't be ready. But once the puck dropped, all of the concern belonged to Edmonton.

The Blackhawks dominated the Oilers in every aspect of the game, posting a convincing victory at Rogers Place.

Richard Panik scored twice, and Patrick Kane, Trevor van Riemsdyk and Artem Anisimov added goals to give Chicago a 5-1-0 record on its six-game road trip.
