Anaheim Ducks 5, Buffalo Sabres 2

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Corey Perry had two goals and an assist to lead the Anaheim Ducks to a 5-2 win over the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday night.

Rickard Rakell, Antoine Vermette and Andrew Cogliano also scored for the Ducks, who snapped a three-game losing streak. John Gibson made 21 saves.

Jack Eichel and Rasmus Ristolainen scored for the Sabres. Robin Lehner made 39 saves.

Washington Capitals 6, Detroit Red Wings 3

WASHINGTON -- John Carlson scored the winning goal early in the third period and Washington held off a challenge from Detroit to pick up its 11th straight home win.

T.J. Oshie had two goals and Marcus Johansson, Brett Connolly and Nicklas Backstrom also scored for the Capitals while Braden Holtby made 14 saves to improve to 13-0-0 in his last 15 games.

Andreas Athanasiou scored two goals and Henrik Zetterberg once for the Red Wings.

New York Rangers 4, Nashville Predators 3

NEW YORK -- Chris Kreider's 22nd goal early in the third period put New York ahead for good in a victory against Nashville at Madison Square Garden.

J.T. Miller scored twice and Michael Grabner once for the Rangers other goals while Henrik Lundqvist made 34 saves.

Cody McLeod, Calle Jankrok and Roman Josi scored for the Predators.

New York Islanders 3, Philadelphia Flyers 1

PHILADELPHIA -- John Tavares, Jason Chimera and Casey Cizikas scored goals and Thomas Greiss stopped 33 of 34 shots to lead New York over Philadelphia.

Wayne Simmonds scored the only goal for the Flyers, who have been outscored 30-3 in their last six losses.

Greiss, who signed a three-year contract extension last month, has gone 7-1-1 in his last nine decisions and is now 17-8-3. Flyers goaltender Steve Mason (30 saves) fell to 16-17-6 and has lost 10 of his last 12 decisions.

Vancouver Canucks 3, Columbus Blue Jackets 0

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Daniel Sedin, Loui Eriksson and Jayson Megna scored goals, and Ryan Miller made 33 saves as Vancouver shut out Columbus.

The Canucks posted their first road shutout of the season. The Blue Jackets fell in the opener of a seven-game homestand.

Columbus goalie Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 21 of the 24 shots he faced.

Boston Bruins 6, San Jose Sharks 3

Playing in front of a sparse crowd because of a blizzard, Boston got a goal from David Backes at 52 seconds and never trailed in a win vs. San Jose.

Patrice Bergeron had a goal and three assists and David Pastrnak scored two goals, giving him eight points in the last three games as the Bruins ended a two-game losing streak and handed the Sharks a second straight loss on their four-game road trip.

Tim Schaller and Brad Marchand also scored for the Bruins while Joe Thornton, Timo Meier and Justin Braun scored for the Sharks.

Los Angeles Kings 6, Florida Panthers 3

SUNRISE, Fla. -- Jeff Carter scored his 28th and 29th goals of the season and added two assists to lead Los Angeles over Florida at the BB&T Center.

Dustin Brown, Tanner Pearson, Tyler Toffoli and Dwight King also scored for the Kings.

The Panthers got goals by Jonathan Marchessault, Jussi Jokinen and Aleksander Barkov.

St. Louis Blues 2, Toronto Maple Leafs 1 (OT)

TORONTO -- Vladimir Tarasenko scored 20 seconds into overtime, and St. Louis defeated Toronto.

It was the 26th goal of the season for Tarasenko. Patrik Berglund also scored for the Blues, who have won three games in a row. Morgan Rielly scored for the Maple Leafs.

Frederik Andersen made 38 saves in the Toronto goal, while Blues goaltender Jake Allen stopped 31 shots.

Ottawa Senators 3, Dallas Stars 2

OTTAWA -- Ottawa put itself back on track with a win over Dallas at Canadian Tire Centre.

The Senators had lost their previous two games by a combined count of 10-0. Mark Stone, Dion Phaneuf and Chris Kelly were the Senators' goal scorers. Jamie Benn and Antoine Roussel replied for the Stars.

Senators goalie Mike Condon returned to the net after a one-game break to make 31 saves for the victory. Kari Lehtonen stopped 16 shots between the Dallas pipes.

Montreal Canadiens 5, Arizona Coyotes 4 (OT)

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Max Pacioretty had two goals and two assists, Andrei Markov and Alex Radulov each scored and Alex Galchenyuk buried a wrist shot from the slot in overtime to lift Montreal over Arizona.

Carey Price made 20 saves for the Canadiens, who snapped a four-game losing streak to maintain an eight-point lead Ottawa for the Atlantic Division lead.

Christian Dvorak had two goals, and Max Domi and Alex Goligoski also scored for the Coyotes, who got 35 saves from Mike Smith, but lost for the third time in their last four games.

Pittsburgh Penguins 4, Colorado Avalanche 1

DENVER -- Patric Hornqvist scored two goals, Matt Murray had 27 saves and Pittsburgh beat Colorado.

Phil Kessel had a goal and an assist, Chris Kunitz scored into an empty net and Justin Schultz and Matt Cullen had two assists apiece for the Penguins.

Gabriel Landeskog had a goal and Calvin Pickard stopped 26 shots for the Avalanche.
