Tampa Bay Lightning recall F Joel Vermin

The Tampa Bay Lightning recalled forward Joel Vermin from the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League on Saturday.

Vermin, 24, has nine goals, eight assists and eight penalty minutes in 27 games with the Crunch this season. He ranks second on Syracuse with four power-play goals.

The Bern, Switzerland, also has two assists in nine games with the Lightning. In 15 career NHL games, all with the Lightning over the past two seasons, Vermin owns three assists and two penalty minutes.

The 5-foot-11,192-pound Vermin was originally drafted by Tampa Bay in the seventh round of the 2013 NHL draft.
