New York Rangers 2, Buffalo Sabres 1

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Chris Kreider scored at 3:56 of overtime to lead the New York Rangers to a 2-1 victory over the Buffalo Sabres.

It was Kreider's 20th goal of the season. Following a give-and-go sequence with left winger J.T. Miller, Kreider's shot from the right circle beat goaltender Robin Lehner.

Mats Zuccarello also scored for the Rangers. Henrik Lundqvist made 36 saves.

Cody Franson scored for the Sabres. Lehner stopped 42 shots for Buffalo.

Ottawa Senators 5, Tampa Bay Lightning 2

TAMPA, Fla. -- Mark Stone scored twice and added an assist as Ottawa defeated Tampa Bay at Amalie Arena.

Erik Karlsson had three assists, Kyle Turris and Mike Hoffman each had a goal and assist, and Chris Kelly added a goal for the Senators. Mike Condon finished with 19 saves.

Tyler Johnson and Brayden Point scored for the Lightning. Andrei Vasilevskiy finished with 25 saves.

Philadelphia Flyers 3, Montreal Canadiens 1

PHILADELPHIA -- Matt Read scored the winning goal 3:32 into the third period and Michal Neuvirth turned away 15 of the 16 shots he faced as Philadelphia topped Montreal.

Claude Giroux and Sean Couturier also scored for the Flyers, who battled back from an early 1-0 deficit to win for the fourth time in five games and erase the memories of Tuesday night's 5-1 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes in Raleigh.

Nikita Nesterov scored the only goal for the Canadiens, whose 16 shots were their lowest since they took 17 shots in a 5-4 over Philadelphia on Nov. 5.

Nashville Predators 2, Edmonton Oilers 0

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Pekka Rinne stopped 31 Edmonton shots for his 42nd career shutout at Bridgestone Arena.

Ryan Johansen and Viktor Arvidsson scored the Predators goals.

Cam Talbot finished with 25 saves for the Oilers, who started a three-game trip with the loss.

Winnipeg Jets 4, Dallas Stars 3

DALLAS -- Mark Scheifele scored two goals and Ondrej Pavelec made 38 saves for Winnipeg in a win against Dallas at American Airlines Center.

The Jets also got a goal and an assist from Nikolaj Ehlers, a goal from Bryan Little and two assists from Patrik Laine.

The Stars got goals from John Klingberg, who also had an assist, from Jamie Benn, who added two assists, and Patrick Eaves. Kari Lehtonen stopped 25 shots.

Chicago Blackhawks 4, Arizona Coyotes 3

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- The line of Artem Anisimov, Patrick Kane and Artemi Panarin broke out of a scoring slump to beat Arizona.

Kane, Ryan Hartman and Marian Hossa scored in the first period, Panarin scored early in the second and Corey Crawford turned aside 24 shots as the Blackhawks snapped a three-game losing streak.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Christian Dvorak and rookie Brendan Perlini scored for the Coyotes, who lost their second straight contest following a season-high three-game winning streak. Mike Smith made 22 saves for Arizona, surpassing Bob Essensa's franchise record of 8,056 saves in the second period. Smith has 8,064.

St. Louis Blues 5, Toronto Maple Leafs 1

ST. LOUIS -- Paul Stastny and Vladimir Tarasenko scored 35 seconds apart in the second period to lead St. Louis over Toronto in Mike Yeo's debut as the Blues head coach.

Jake Allen stopped 25 of 26 shots to get his first win in goal since Jan. 2, while Stastny had another goal and Alexander Steen and Colton Parayko also scored for the Blues.

Mitchell Marner scored for the Maple Leafs.

San Jose Sharks 4, Vancouver Canucks 1

VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- Patrick Marleau scored his 500th NHL goal on a first-period power play as San Jose defeated Vancouver.

Chris Tierney scored twice for the Sharks and Brent Burns had a goal and an assist. Philip Larsen scored for the Canucks.

Ryan Miller made 28 saves for Vancouver and Martin Jones, making his 44th start, stopped 32 shots for San Jose.
