The Edmonton Oilers acquired forward Henrik Samuelsson from the Arizona Coyotes on Wednesday in exchange for forward Mitchell Moroz.
Samuelsson, a former first-round draft pick (No. 27 overall) of the Coyotes in 2012, has appeared in just three NHL games during the 2014-15 season with Arizona.
The 22-year-old Samuelsson had two goals and an assist in 20 games this season with the Tucson Roadrunners of the American Hockey League. The younger brother of former NHL defenseman Ulf Samuelsson, he has appeared in 131 AHL games, registering 55 points and 102 penalty minutes.
Moroz, a second-round draft pick of Edmonton in 2012, has never appeared in an NHL game. He was a teammate of Samuelsson from 2011-14 with the Edmonton Oil Kings of the Western Hockey League.
