Washington Capitals recall F Zach Sanford

The Washington Capitals recalled forward Zach Sanford from the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League on Saturday.

Sanford, 22, has one assist in 19 games with the Capitals this season. The Salem, Mass., native made his NHL debut on Oct. 13 at Pittsburgh and earned his first NHL point with an assist on Oct. 30 at Calgary.

The 6-foot-4, 203-pound Sanford registered seven points (four goals, three assists) in six games with Hershey this season.

Sanford totaled 39 points (13 goals, 26 assists) in 41 games with Boston College in 2015-16. He was drafted by the Capitals in the second round (61st overall) of the 2013 NHL draft.
