Former New Orleans Saints player selling Super Bowl ring, helmet on Craigslist

NEW ORLEANS, April 10 (UPI) -- A trophy for the pinnacle of your career can quickly turn to a source for quick cash after an NFL career.

According to NOLA.com, a craigslist.com user is trying to sell his New Orleans Saints Super Bowl ring and No. 29 helmet.

The man who claims to be "a former Saints player" is asking $45,000 for the 2009 Super Bowl ring. The ring includes 103 round diamonds, weighs 2.20 carats, and boasts the score of Super Bowl XLIV, Saints 31, Colts 17.

The Tiffany & Co. product is 14K gold and was awarded to 219 players on the active roster and practice squad during that 2009 season, according to NOLA.com.

In 2009, Chris McAlister, Marcus McCauley, Herana-Daze Jones, and Glenn Sharpe each wore the No. 29, either on the active roster or practice squad.

The official New Orleans Saints helmet is autographed by Drew Brees, Jeremy Shockey, Darren Sharper, and Reggie Bush and is listed for $3,500.
